Ingredients
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
¾ cup holiday sprinkles
1 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
5. Stir in the vanilla extract and almond extract.
6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
7. Fold in the holiday sprinkles and white chocolate chips gently using a spatula.
8. Scoop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
9. Add extra sprinkles on top of the cookie dough if desired.
10. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until the edges are lightly golden while the centers remain soft.
11. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
12. Serve warm or store in an airtight container for later enjoyment.
Notes
Use softened butter instead of melted butter to keep the cookies thick and soft.
Do not overbake the cookies because they continue setting while cooling on the baking sheet.
For brighter festive cookies, press extra sprinkles onto the tops before baking.
