1 lb ground chicken

12 leaves butter lettuce

1/2 cup water chestnuts finely chopped

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp cornstarch

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp green onions sliced

1 tbsp sesame seeds optional

1 tbsp cooking oil


Instructions

1. Separate and wash the lettuce leaves, then pat dry and refrigerate.

2. Dice onion, mince garlic, grate ginger, and chop water chestnuts.

3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, and cornstarch.

4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook ground chicken until no longer pink.

5. Add onion and cook until soft, then stir in garlic and ginger.

6. Mix in chopped water chestnuts and cook for 2–3 minutes.

7. Pour in the sauce and stir until thickened and well combined.

8. Season with black pepper and adjust flavor if needed.

9. Spoon the mixture into chilled lettuce cups.

10. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, then serve immediately.
