Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese

1/2 cup pepper jelly

1 sheet puff pastry or 1 can crescent roll dough

1/2 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup cooked bacon crumbles optional

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or green onions

1 egg


Instructions

1. Thaw puff pastry or unroll crescent dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a rectangle

2. Spread softened cream cheese evenly over the dough leaving a small border

3. Spoon and gently spread the pepper jelly over the cream cheese layer

4. Sprinkle shredded cheese bacon and herbs evenly across the surface

5. Roll the dough tightly into a log starting from one long edge

6. Chill the rolled dough in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes

7. Slice into 1/2 to 1 inch thick pinwheels using a sharp knife

8. Place slices on a parchment lined baking sheet with space between each

9. Brush tops with beaten egg for a golden finish

10. Bake at 375°F 190°C for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown

11. Cool slightly garnish with herbs and serve

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for smooth spreading

Chill the dough before slicing for clean pinwheels
