Topped with a sweet vanilla glaze and loaded with buttery cinnamon flavor, these rolls are perfect for breakfast ideas, holiday mornings, family gatherings, or cozy food ideas any day of the week.

Ingredients

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast

¾ cup warm milk

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

¼ cup heavy cream

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

1. Warm the milk until slightly warm to the touch, then combine it with sugar and instant yeast in a large bowl.

2. Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

3. Slowly add flour and salt while mixing until a soft dough forms.

4. Knead the dough for several minutes until smooth and elastic.

5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rest briefly.

6. In another bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to create the filling.

7. Roll the dough into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface.

8. Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough.

9. Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the filling if desired.

10. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape.

11. Slice the dough into equal cinnamon rolls using a sharp knife or dental floss.

12. Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish.

13. Cover and let the rolls rise until slightly puffy.

14. Pour heavy cream over the rolls for extra softness if desired.

15. Bake until the tops are lightly golden and the centers remain soft.

16. While baking, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together to prepare the glaze.

17. Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool slightly after baking.

18. Drizzle the glaze generously over the warm cinnamon rolls.

19. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Use warm milk instead of hot milk to avoid damaging the yeast and ensure a proper rise.

Do not add too much flour or the cinnamon rolls may become dense instead of soft and fluffy.

Glaze the cinnamon rolls while they are still warm so the icing melts perfectly into the swirls.
