Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 cups crushed tortilla chips
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1–2 fresh jalapeños, sliced (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water and let simmer until thickened.
- In a bowl, combine sour cream and cream of chicken soup until smooth.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread half the crushed chips on the bottom.
- Add half the seasoned beef, half the sour cream mixture, and a layer of shredded cheese.
- Repeat the layers: chips, beef, sour cream mix, cheese.
- Top with remaining chips and cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes. Top with diced tomatoes, jalapeños, and cilantro if using.
