Ingredients

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup hot coffee

1 cup unsalted butter

4 cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons heavy cream

2 tablespoons green and white sprinkles

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3. In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.

5. Slowly pour in the hot coffee and mix until the batter becomes smooth.

6. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.

7. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for several minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

9. Beat the butter until creamy, then gradually mix in powdered sugar.

10. Add heavy cream and continue beating until the frosting becomes fluffy and smooth.

11. Pipe or spread frosting onto the cooled cupcakes.

12. Decorate with green and white sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Use room-temperature ingredients for a smoother batter and softer cupcake texture.

Do not overmix the batter after adding the flour to avoid dense cupcakes.

Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
