Ingredients

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk

1/3 cup unsalted butter melted

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons orange zest

1/2 cup fresh orange juice

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 ounces cream cheese optional


Instructions

1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.

2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl, then add eggs, butter, orange zest, and yeast mixture.

3. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.

4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled.

5. Mix butter, brown sugar, and orange zest for the filling.

6. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread filling evenly.

7. Roll into a log and slice into even pieces.

8. Place rolls in a baking dish and let rise again.

9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes.

10. Mix glaze ingredients until smooth.

11. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Use fresh orange zest for the best flavor and aroma.

Do not overheat the milk to avoid killing the yeast.

Glaze while warm for a soft, melt-in finish.
