Description

Crispy Fried Green Beans are the perfect quick appetizer, easy snack, and crowd-pleasing side dish packed with crunchy texture and savory flavor. Fresh green beans are coated in a seasoned parmesan breadcrumb mixture and fried until golden brown, creating a delicious restaurant-style appetizer you can easily make at home. These crispy green beans pair perfectly with ranch, garlic aioli, or spicy dipping sauces, making them ideal for game days, party platters, dinner ideas, and easy comfort food recipes.

Ingredients

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons milk

1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

2 cups vegetable oil for frying

2 tablespoons chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

1/4 cup ranch dressing or dipping sauce of choice

Instructions

1. Wash the green beans thoroughly and trim the ends. Pat them completely dry using paper towels.

2. Prepare three bowls for breading. In the first bowl, combine flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

3. In the second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until smooth.

4. In the third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.

5. Coat each green bean in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.

6. Place the breaded green beans on a tray and let them rest for 5 minutes.

7. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C).

8. Fry the green beans in small batches for 2 to 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

9. Remove the fried green beans using tongs or a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate.

10. Sprinkle with additional salt or Parmesan cheese while still hot.

11. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Thoroughly dry the green beans before breading to help the coating stick properly and prevent oil splatter.

Fry in small batches to maintain the oil temperature and achieve extra crispy Fried Green Beans.

For a lighter version, cook the breaded green beans in an air fryer at 390°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
