Ingredients

3 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced

2 cups frozen mixed vegetables

1/2 cup celery finely chopped

1/2 cup onion finely diced

3 cloves garlic minced

1 can 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 can refrigerated biscuit dough or crescent dough

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.

2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, then sauté onion and celery until softened.

3. Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.

4. Stir in flour, then gradually whisk in chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and milk until smooth.

5. Simmer until slightly thickened, then mix in chicken, vegetables, and seasonings.

6. Fold in sour cream and cheese if using.

7. Transfer mixture into prepared casserole dish and spread evenly.

8. Arrange biscuit or crescent dough on top, leaving small gaps.

9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

10. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken to save time and boost flavor.

Do not over-add liquid to avoid a watery casserole.

Bake until the topping is fully golden to ensure it is cooked through.
