Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6–8 fresh strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate, melted
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry slightly and use a heart-shaped cutter (or knife) to cut out heart shapes.
- Bake the Pastries: Place hearts on the prepared baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool.
- Make the Whipped Cream: In a bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Slice & Fill: Once cooled, slice the pastry hearts in half. Pipe or spoon whipped cream onto the bottom halves and add strawberry slices.
- Assemble & Garnish: Place the top pastry layer over the filling. Drizzle with melted chocolate and dust with powdered sugar.
