Ingredients

For the Brownies:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberry purée or preserves
  • Optional: 1–2 tsp strawberry extract
  • Optional: pink or red food coloring

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp strawberry purée or juice
  • Optional: crushed freeze-dried strawberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, and strawberry purée. Mix well.
  4. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes. A toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
  7. Let brownies cool completely in the pan.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and strawberry purée until glaze forms. Adjust consistency if needed.
  9. Spread glaze over cooled brownies. Garnish if desired.
  10. Let set for 20–30 minutes. Cut into squares and serve.
