- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 oz short pasta (ziti, penne, or elbow macaroni)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella and cheddar blend)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until softened.
- Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and mix until evenly coated with the sauce.
