Ingredients

3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 30 crackers), crushed

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.

2. In a large bowl, mix the chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Transfer the chicken mixture to the casserole dish and spread it evenly.

4. In another bowl, combine crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter until well coated.

5. Sprinkle the cracker mixture over the chicken layer evenly.

6. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is bubbling.

7. Optionally broil for 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness, watching closely.

8. Let rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Add a cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) for a cheesier version.

Make it a one-dish meal by mixing in steamed broccoli or peas.

Use crushed gluten-free crackers and a homemade cream base to make this gluten-free.
