Warm, golden, and irresistibly soft, this Poppy Seed Pull Apart Bread is perfect for sharing. With a tender crumb and nutty topping, it’s ideal for brunches, holidays, or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups bread flour

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp salt

2 tbsp poppy seeds

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp water

Instructions

1. Combine warm milk and sugar in a small bowl, sprinkle yeast on top, and let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.

2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.

3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.

4. Punch down dough, divide into 20–24 pieces, and shape into balls. Place in a greased round pan.

5. Cover and let rise for another 30–45 minutes.

6. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds.

7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.

8. Cool slightly before serving.
