- 12 oz penne pasta (uncooked)
- 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced beef strips
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (sweet & smoky style recommended)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste

- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add beef, season with salt and pepper, and brown until cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
