Ingredients

For the Beef & Rice

  • Beef Sirloin or Ribeye: 400 grams, cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • Cooked Rice: 3 cups (preferably day-old rice for better texture).
  • Bell Peppers: 1 red and 1 green, diced.
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced.
  • Onion: 1 small, diced.

For the Sauce

  • Soy Sauce: 3 tablespoons.
  • Honey: 2 tablespoons.
  • Chili Powder: 1 teaspoon.
  • Smoked Paprika: 1 teaspoon.
  • Tomato Paste: 1 tablespoon.
  • Beef Broth: ½ cup.

Seasoning & Garnish

  • Salt and Black Pepper: To taste.
  • Green Onions: Chopped.
  • Red Chili Flakes: Optional.

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Cook the Beef:
    • Heat a large non-stick skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Add oil and heat until shimmering.
    • Add beef, season with salt and pepper, and sear for 4-5 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet.
  2. Sauté Vegetables:
    • In the same skillet, add oil if needed. Add onions and cook until translucent. Stir in garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add Bell Peppers:
    • Toss in bell peppers and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  4. Prepare the Sauce:
    • Mix soy sauce, honey, chili powder, smoked paprika, tomato paste, and beef broth. Pour into the skillet and stir to coat vegetables.
  5. Combine Beef and Rice:
    • Return beef to skillet with cooked rice. Toss well and cook for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  6. Adjust Seasoning and Serve:
    • Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with green onions and chili flakes if desired. Serve hot.
