Ingredients

  • 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cups chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and sear until browned on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and Cajun seasoning; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add rinsed rice and stir to coat in spices and sausage drippings.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a low boil.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until rice is tender and broth is absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat, drizzle honey over the dish, and gently stir to combine.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
