Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, diced
- 10 oz smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp honey
- 12 oz penne pasta (or similar)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add diced chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, add sliced sausage and sear until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Stir in heavy cream and honey, and bring to a light simmer.
- Add pasta, stir, and bring mixture to a gentle boil. Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Return chicken and sausage to the pot. Stir and let everything simmer uncovered for 2–3 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot and garnish with extra cheese or red pepper flakes if desired.
