Ingredients

  • 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups uncooked penne or rotini pasta
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your choice of flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the sliced sausage until golden, about 5–6 minutes.
  2. Add chicken broth, uncooked pasta, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  4. Stir in the BBQ sauce and heavy cream. Mix until well combined.
  5. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted and the sauce is creamy.
  6. Simmer uncovered for 2 minutes to thicken. Remove from heat and let rest 1–2 minutes before serving.
