Ingredients
- 12 mozzarella sticks (whole milk recommended)
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 tbsp Nashville hot seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs (beaten with 2 tbsp water)
- 1 1/2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
- Optional: 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1 tbsp hot sauce, 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Vegetable oil for frying (about 3–4 cups)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and Nashville hot seasoning (plus any optional spices).
- Flatten a small portion of the beef mixture into a thin oval.
- Place a mozzarella stick in the center and wrap the beef around it, sealing all edges.
- Place wrapped sticks on a tray and freeze for 30–45 minutes.
- Set up a dredging station with flour, egg wash, and breadcrumbs.
- Coat each frozen beef-wrapped stick: dip in flour, then egg wash, then breadcrumbs.
