Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed but cold

8 hot dogs (beef, pork, or vegetarian)

4 slices cheddar cheese, cut into strips

1 egg

16 candy eyes

ketchup or mustard for serving (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut into 1/4-inch strips.

3. Place cheese strips along each hot dog.

4. Wrap each hot dog with pastry strips, leaving a gap for eyes.

5. Optional: brush with whisked egg for a golden finish.

6. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.

7. Let cool slightly, then attach candy eyes with ketchup or mustard.

Notes

Make sure the puff pastry is cold when wrapping to help it hold its shape.
