¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
1 large egg
½ tsp salt
6 oz cream cheese (softened)
½ cup brown sugar
1 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp powdered sugar (optional for glaze)
Instructions
1. Warm the milk to 110°F and stir in the yeast and 1 tsp of sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. In a bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add milk-yeast mixture, egg, and butter. Mix and knead until smooth.
3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.
4. Mix cream cheese and vanilla extract until smooth. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
5. Roll dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.
6. Roll dough tightly from the long edge to form a log. Cut into 12 even pieces.
