Craving a quick and zesty companion for your seafood or fries? This Homemade Tartar Sauce is the answer. Made with everyday ingredients in under 10 minutes, this easy recipe belongs in your go-to collection of food ideas. Whether you’re after a quick breakfast addition, a healthy snack dip, or easy dinner upgrade, this tartar sauce delivers flavor with every spoonful.

Ingredients

1 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons chopped dill pickles

1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon chopped capers (optional)

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Finely chop the dill pickles, fresh dill, and capers (if using).

2. In a medium bowl, add 1 cup of mayonnaise.

3. Stir in chopped pickles, dill, mustard, lemon juice, and capers.

4. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.

5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to develop.

6. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving. Enjoy with seafood, veggies, or sandwiches.

Notes

For the freshest flavor, always use freshly squeezed lemon juice and fresh dill.

If you like it chunkier, chop the pickles more coarsely for added texture.

You can double the recipe and store it in a jar—it stays good for up to a week.
