Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs, room temperature

1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)

1/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 to 3 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3–4 minutes).

3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually add dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with sour cream and milk. Mix gently.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

9. Make the glaze: whisk powdered sugar, cinnamon, milk, and vanilla until smooth.

10. Once the loaf is fully cooled, drizzle or spread the glaze over the top. Let it set before slicing.

Notes

Ensure your butter and eggs are at room temperature for a smoother batter.

Let the loaf cool fully before adding glaze to prevent it from melting.

You can customize this loaf by adding chopped nuts, dried cranberries, or mini chocolate chips.
