Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (85/15 recommended)
- 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium carrot, shredded (optional)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, if using lean beef)
- 1/4 cup beef broth or water (optional, for moisture)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil if using lean beef.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- Add diced onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add chopped cabbage and shredded carrot. Stir well, then cover and steam for 5–7 minutes.
- Pour in soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Add a splash of broth or water if needed.
- Simmer uncovered for another 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender and flavors are blended.
- Taste, adjust seasoning, and serve warm.
