Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey (93% lean)

1 tablespoon fresh sage, finely chopped

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional)

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)


Instructions

1. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, sage, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and maple syrup if using. Combine gently to avoid tough sausage.

2. Divide the mixture into 6–8 equal portions. Form each into a round, flat patty about 1/2 inch thick.

3. Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and allow it to heat until shimmering.

4. Place patties in the skillet without crowding. Cook for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.

5. Transfer cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate. Let rest a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For juicier patties, avoid overmixing the meat mixture.

Flash-freeze patties individually before transferring to a freezer-safe bag to prevent sticking.

Let patties rest a few minutes after cooking to reabsorb juices.
