Description

These Easy Crispy Honey Chicken Bites are golden, crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a sticky-sweet honey glaze. Perfect for a quick dinner, appetizer, or party snack, this recipe comes together in about 30–40 minutes and is guaranteed to satisfy.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry and cut into even bite-sized pieces.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour, then the egg, then the breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry the chicken in batches for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
  8. Drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
  9. In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
  10. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer until the sauce thickens.
  11. Toss fried chicken in the sauce just before serving.
  12. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
