Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (85/15 preferred)
- 1/2 head green cabbage, thinly sliced (about 4 cups)
- 2 medium carrots, shredded
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
- 1 tbsp cooking oil (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until fully browned.
- Drain excess fat if needed, then stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add shredded carrots and sliced cabbage. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and water (plus cornstarch if using).
- Pour the sauce over the beef and cabbage, stirring to coat evenly.
- Let the mixture cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat, drizzle with sesame oil, and toss to combine.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
