Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the shrimp in a single layer for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  5. Stir in tomato paste, chili powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Let spices toast for 1 minute.
  6. Add lime juice and honey, stirring to create a glossy sauce. Add a splash of water if too thick.
  7. Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes more until shrimp are fully cooked.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
