Golden, crunchy, and bursting with flavor, these Crispy Fried Mushrooms make the perfect appetizer or snack. Each mushroom is coated in a seasoned breadcrumb mixture and fried to perfection, delivering an irresistible combination of crispiness and juiciness. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce for a crowd-pleasing treat!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh mushrooms (button or cremini), cleaned and dried
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Ranch dressing, garlic aioli, or preferred dipping sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms – Wipe mushrooms clean with a damp paper towel and pat dry.
  2. Set Up Breading Station – In three separate bowls:
    • Bowl 1: Mix flour, half the seasonings, and salt.
    • Bowl 2: Whisk eggs and milk.
    • Bowl 3: Combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and remaining seasonings.
  3. Coat the Mushrooms – Dredge each mushroom in flour, dip into egg wash, then coat with breadcrumbs. For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.
  4. Heat the Oil – Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the Mushrooms – Fry in small batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on a cooling rack or paper towels.
  6. Serve & Enjoy – Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
