Ingredients

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

8 oz linguine pasta

1 cup heavy cream

4 cloves garlic, minced

¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)


Instructions

1. Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and butter. Sear chicken breasts until golden brown, about 5–6 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

3. Cook linguine in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.

4. In the same skillet, add a bit more butter if needed and sauté garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

5. Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping up browned bits. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

6. Add grated Parmesan and whisk until melted and smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

7. Return chicken to skillet and simmer for 5–7 minutes until fully cooked through.

8. Add linguine to the sauce and toss until evenly coated. Use reserved pasta water to loosen sauce if needed.

9. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest, silkiest sauce—pre-shredded won’t melt as nicely.

If your sauce gets too thick, a splash of pasta water or extra cream will bring it back to life.

For a lighter version, swap heavy cream with half-and-half and use grilled chicken instead of seared.
