Ingredients
2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F or air fryer to 380°F. Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels.
2. Toss wings with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until well coated.
3. Arrange wings in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet or air fryer basket.
4. Bake for 40–45 minutes (oven) or cook for 22–25 minutes (air fryer), flipping/shaking halfway through.
5. While wings cook, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
6. Stir in Dijon mustard, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, paprika, cayenne, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and mix in parsley.
7. Once wings are cooked and crispy, transfer to a bowl and toss with the warm cowboy butter sauce.
8. Serve hot with a sprinkle of parsley, and optional parmesan or chili flakes. Enjoy with ranch or blue cheese dip.
Notes
Letting the wings sit uncovered in the fridge before cooking helps them crisp up beautifully.
Always toss the wings in sauce while hot to help them absorb the flavors better.
Double the cowboy butter sauce to use it as a dipping sauce for fries or veggies.
