Description

A delicious fusion of cinnamon rolls and French toast, these roll-ups are filled with sweet cinnamon-sugar goodness and drizzled with a creamy glaze. Perfect for breakfast or brunch, they are easy to make and sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Soft bread is rolled with a cinnamon-sugar filling, dipped in a French toast batter, and cooked until golden brown. Serve warm with a drizzle of glaze or maple syrup for the ultimate treat!


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of white sandwich bread (crusts removed)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp butter (for cooking)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk or cream (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Spread a thin layer on each bread slice.
  3. Roll each slice tightly and set aside.
  4. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Heat a pan over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp butter.
  6. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s coated but not soaked.
  7. Cook roll-ups in the pan for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with 1-2 tbsp milk until smooth.
  9. Drizzle glaze over warm roll-ups and serve immediately.
