Whether you’re looking for an easy recipe to share at parties, a festive addition to your holiday baking, or Christmas cookie ideas that don’t require rolling dough, this easy dessert is perfect. Great for kids’ treats, holiday potlucks, or cozy winter baking, these bars bring the joy of the season in every bite.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/4 cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup Christmas-colored sprinkles (jimmies)

1 1/2 cups vanilla buttercream frosting

2 tablespoons additional sprinkles for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.

5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix just until combined.

6. Gently fold in 3/4 cup Christmas sprinkles.

7. Spread dough evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

8. Bake for 22–26 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

9. Cool completely in the pan before frosting.

10. Spread buttercream frosting over cooled bars.

11. Sprinkle with remaining sprinkles, slice into squares, and serve.

Notes

Always let the bars cool completely before frosting to avoid a melty mess.

For cleaner cuts, chill the bars after frosting for 15 minutes.

Use parchment paper with overhang for easy lifting and slicing.
