- 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
- 1 cup toffee bits or crushed toffee candy
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch cake pans.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk sugar, eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
