Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups M&M’s (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the M&M’s gently.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Press a few extra M&M’s on top of each dough ball.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look slightly underdone.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
