Cheddar-Crusted Ground Beef and Rice Casserole

Description

A hearty and comforting casserole made with seasoned ground beef, tender rice, and a creamy sauce, all topped with melted cheddar cheese. This easy, family-friendly dish is perfect for busy weeknights and makes great leftovers. Freeze it for meal prep or enjoy it fresh out of the oven!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.

  3. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened.

  4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  5. Mix in beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and uncooked rice until well combined.

  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover with foil.

  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes covered. Remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.

  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley. Enjoy!
