Ingredients

0.5 cup unsalted butter

0.5 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

0.5 cup granulated sugar

0.25 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

0.33 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

0.5 cup all-purpose flour

0.25 tsp salt

0.5 cup unsalted butter

2 cups powdered sugar

1.5 tbsp heavy cream or milk

0.5 tsp peppermint extract

A few drops red or pink food coloring (optional)

Crushed candy canes

Mini candy canes (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a mini muffin pan with grease or liners.

2. Melt butter and chocolate chips together; stir until smooth and let cool slightly.

3. Whisk in sugars, eggs, and vanilla until fully combined.

4. In a separate bowl, mix cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Fold into the wet mixture without overmixing.

5. Spoon batter into mini muffin cups, filling 3/4 full. Bake for 12–15 minutes.

6. Cool brownie bites in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool fully.

7. Beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar gradually. Add peppermint extract, cream, and optional coloring. Beat until fluffy.

8. Pipe frosting onto cooled brownie bites using a star tip.

9. Top with crushed candy canes and mini candy canes for garnish.

10. Serve immediately or chill until ready to enjoy.

Notes

Crush candy canes just before decorating to keep their crisp texture and color.

Allow brownie bites to fully cool before frosting to avoid melting.

Store frosting separately if preparing ahead to keep texture fresh.
