Description

Creamy, tangy, and packed with fresh herb flavor, this Buttermilk Ranch dressing is a homemade upgrade that leaves bottled versions behind. Made with a rich blend of mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk, it’s perfectly seasoned with garlic, onion, and herbs—ideal for salads, veggies, or as a dip for just about anything.

Ingredients

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup sour cream

3/4 cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped

1 small garlic clove, finely grated or minced

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon lemon juice or white vinegar (optional)

1 dash hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise and sour cream. Whisk until smooth.

2. Slowly pour in the buttermilk while whisking continuously to achieve a uniform consistency.

3. Stir in the chopped chives, parsley, dill, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

4. Taste and add lemon juice or hot sauce if desired.

5. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

6. Stir before serving. Use as a dip, dressing, or sauce.

Notes

Store in the fridge for 5–7 days in a sealed container.

Let it chill for 30 minutes before serving to develop full flavor.

Use fresh herbs for best taste.

Don’t freeze, as it will separate when thawed.
