1/4 cup milk or cream

1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

2. Wash sweet potatoes and place them whole on the baking sheet.

3. Roast for 45–60 minutes until fork-tender.

4. Let them cool slightly, then peel off the skins.

5. Transfer the flesh to a mixing bowl.

6. Add butter, milk or cream, maple syrup (if using), salt, and cinnamon.

7. Mash using a hand masher or beat with a hand mixer until smooth.

8. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

9. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley.

10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Roasting instead of boiling enhances sweetness and prevents soggy mash.

Adjust the sweetness and spices to fit your meal—this recipe is flexible.

Fresh herbs like parsley or thyme add balance and freshness.
