Ingredients

  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 package graham crackers or Nilla Wafers (about 2 cups if crushed)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (if using graham cracker crust)
  • 2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream
  • Optional: lemon juice to prevent banana browning

Instructions

  1. Make the crust (optional): Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until sandy. Press into the bottom of an 8×8-inch dish and refrigerate.
  2. Prepare the pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk for 2–3 minutes until thickened. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  3. Slice the bananas: Cut into 1/4-inch rounds. If desired, lightly coat with lemon juice to delay browning.
  4. Layer: Spread pudding over the crust. Add banana slices, then a layer of whipped topping. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  5. Top and chill: Finish with a final layer of whipped topping and banana slices. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours or overnight.
