Description

These Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps are a quick, healthy, and flavor-packed meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings. Filled with lean ground turkey, crisp veggies, and a sweet-savory sauce, all nestled in cool butter lettuce leaves—they’re light yet incredibly satisfying.

Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1 head butter lettuce, leaves separated and washed

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

3 green onions, sliced

1 medium carrot, julienned or shredded

1 red bell pepper, diced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 cup chopped water chestnuts (optional)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Chili flakes or sriracha to taste (optional)

Instructions

1. Wash and dry the butter lettuce leaves and set them aside.

2. Mince the garlic and ginger, slice the green onions, julienne the carrots, and dice the red bell pepper. Chop the water chestnuts if using.

3. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.

4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a small drizzle of sesame oil, then add the ground turkey. Break it up and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.

5. Stir in the garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

6. Add the carrots, bell pepper, and water chestnuts. Stir well and cook for another 2–3 minutes.

7. Pour in the sauce and stir to combine. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until the mixture is coated and slightly thickened.

8. Spoon the mixture into individual lettuce leaves.

9. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of sriracha or chili flakes if desired.

10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
